Pencil Study

I dug up this old sketch I did on a subway years ago. That was during my college years...What's interesting about it, is that my professor, Tom Woodruff, told me that, even though,
it might be good as far as pencil craft, but it lacks emotions from the artist's point. Back then, I remember myself getting mad and not quite understanding what the heck he is talking about.
But over the years I have realized that, totally polished flawless strokes, may look good but it doesn't evoke any real emotions on my behalf....there's no energy or feelings just a cold well crafted sketch. So to all aspiring artists and designers out there, don't be afraid to get messy and create "dirty" pieces of work, it only adds value to your creations...I also heard that works of art that had such energy was more valuable because it captured artist's character....but then again, what the bleep do I know?

Blood is My Life!

If you love blood, explicit scenes, mutilation and other fine things that death has to offer...than I suggest, you put your demons and kids to bed on the evening of sept. 30th, and tune in to Showtime. Yes! It's the 2nd season premier of Dexter.
For those of you, who already know, no further introduction is required, for those of you who don't, then here: It's a show about a miami forensic blood expert, who also happens to be a serial killer. I personally like the show not so much for the plot or the content, but rather the narrative it offers and the way it was shot, and the camera works...not your typical sitcom!

Twiddle Music

So over my summer getaway to vermont, in the midst of all the boozing and gambling, me and my friends got to check out this interesting local band. They call themselves "Twiddle". It's an interesting and eclectic mix of progressive rock/funk/reggae. Although, I felt the songs are too long but it kinda makes sense, because their lyrics are somewhat of a narrative and storytelling. But musically these guys are really proficient and professional. So I suggest anyone who like to puff away and enjoy mixes of santana, hendrix, marley, floyd to deff check em out.
Also you can find them on myspace. Just search twiddle in the music category.
P.s. They're coming to NYC in nov. also checkout their site http://www.twiddlemusic.com/

An Impostor in the Family

Imagine, if you will, that one by one your friends and family– the people closest to you– are being removed and replaced with exact duplicates. Although they are identical in appearance and manner, you are certain that these people are not your loved ones. They are impostors. While most people would become deeply paranoid in such a scenario, there are some individuals who experience such things every day without fear… and just wonder, "why?" Such is the life of people stricken with Capgras' Syndrome.

Dope.

It's funny how sometimes I can't seem to shut up but at times like these, Iam at a loss for words. This (blogging) is partially inspired by boredom, and Hank Moody, although a fictional character, but still is a character. Well, let's see where this goes...
